Overview of Services

Kennedy House has a long history of operating residential and secure programs for children & youth facing emotional, behavioural and legal challenges. Our knowledgeable, professional staff members are devoted to the principles of child welfare: respect, responsible care, integrity in relationships, all delivered in controlled and safe environments. Our programs and services provide support for children & youth up to age 24.

Located in Toronto and Durham Region and serving a catchment of Eastern Ontario, we offer:

  • Structured settings and programs with strong clinical components
  • Flexible intake processes to meet the changing needs of placing agencies
  • Day Treatment options for young people struggling in traditional educational settings, but who do not need residential care
  • Two Residential homes serving the Child Welfare sector
  • Three Developmental Services homes
  • One secure Youth Custody & Detention program serving the Youth Justice sector
  • Classrooms and teaching facilities in association with the local Boards of Education
  • Bailiff Services to support the transportation needs of clients within the Youth Justice system
  • After school & outreach programs in underserved communities
